I LIKE THE IDEA OF A SAILING HOLIDAY BUT AM NOT SURE WHETHER I WILL BE SEA SICK OR CAN COPE WITH WHAT SOUNDS LIKE A CAMPING HOLIDAY AFLOAT.
What can I say? My recollections of camping holidays involve wet tents and cold showers! If you are the sort of person who travels 5 star, who requires a bath twice a day and who is not prepared to take the rough with the smooth then I suggest you take a cruise on a ship. As for being sea sick, our first ever client was sea sick, but it didn't stop her overcoming it AND come sailing with us on two more occasions that same season. Perhaps you should try a short break with us so we can introduce you to a way of life you may just come to enjoy.

I AM A WOMAN. IS IT 'SAFE' IF I CAME ON HOLIDAY ALONE?
Oh dear, do I look like a rogue? I am flattered. Of course it is safe. The first lady who sailed with me 'alone' described me as a lovely man and even kissed me on the cheek when she departed. I am not sure I like being called a lovely man as it makes me sound old and harmless. It is your holiday, and why would we do anything to spoil that, after all, we want you to go home and spread the word. However, being a man, I do reserve the right to pay compliments to females on board, whether they are alone or with partners.

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT. I would love to come sailing but do not have a partner. How much would I have to pay?
The cost of running a boat is the same regardless of numbers but we do not charge a single supplement. The price is per person per day. If you wish to come alone, then it is fine with us. However, if you would like to share your holiday with someone else, we will, with your permission, advertise the space available and offer it to a like-minded person. (Separate cabins, of course!)

SLEEPING Where do we sleep?
The boat has three double cabins. Being on a boat is a bit like a caravan holiday except that it doesn't rain as much. The boat is bedroom and kitchen. The whole world outside is our living room.

FOOD Does it include all the food and how much wine?
It includes all food provided by us and eaten on board and a bottle of wine with dinner. It does not include meals you should choose to eat ashore.

SAILING Do I have to help sail the boat?
You can do as much or as little as you wish.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT Do children need to wear life jackets?
In normal conditions, people are safe in the cockpit without life jackets. Up on deck, it would depend on the weather. ALL people must wear life jackets or bouyancy aids if/when told to. NOTE. We cannot take children under the age of 11 years.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT Do you provide life jackets?
Yes and all regulation safety equipment such as life raft, flares emergency beacons, life buoys etc. - Not that we have ever used most of it.

CAN'T SWIM Is it safe if you cant swim?
Perfectly safe. I have never lost anyone over the side by accident. The question is a bit like saying, is it safe going in an aircraft if I can't fly.

HOW MANY How big a party can you hold?
Ideally, two, although we would take four adults or two adults and two 11+ children.

HOW MANY How many crew are there?
Skipper plus one most of the time. Sometimes just the Skipper if the guests have sailing experience.

HARBOUR OR ANCHORAGE Do you always berth in a harbour or do you drop anchor off shore to sleep?
It can be either, although if you would prefer it to be in a harbour or marina every night then that is what we would do. Alternatively, if you prefer an anchorage with walks on a secluded beach in an evening then that is what would be the norm. After all, it is your holiday

CANCELLATION What happens if I have to cancel my holiday?
All monies paid to 'Let's Go Sailing' will be refunded less your deposit of 20%

CANCELLATION Do I get a refund if you have to cancel my holiday?
We have NEVER had to cancel someone's holiday, but IF we did we would refund ALL monies paid to us by you.

CLOTHING Do you provide sailing clothes, and what do I need to bring?
Yes we provide light weight sailing clothing if you need to keep dry, but we seldom need it. Bring towels, casual summer/beach clothing, an old pair of jeans or slacks and a windproof jacket, cagoule or anorak plus the odd smart but casual item for going ashore. Shoes should have soft soles - trainers are okay.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING SUITCASES. PACK IN A SOFT HOLDALL INSTEAD.

CHILDREN. We have one child who is a teenager but the other is much younger. Can we still come sailing?
Safety is of paramount importance. We might consider taking a younger child, providing both parents had sailing experience. Contact us to discuss.

LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS. Do you ever have any spaces if we book at the last minute?
Contact us to find out, but, remember, last minute airfares tend to be more expensive.

DISABLED. I am slightly disabled. Could I still come sailing with you?
It all depends on your disablity. To be safe on a boat you need good balance and two strong arms as well as be able to step up and down the equivalent of two steps without difficulty. There are companies who have boats set up for disabled people. Your best course of action is to contact us so we can discuss it.
